Following the CLC's together FAIRNESS WORKS Leaders Seminars, the Canadian Labour Congress is now offering Member Engager training sessions on reaching out to members in the workplace.
This workshop will provide skills and tools to member engagers who have been asked to start conversations with other union members.
The session will provide a brief overview of together FAIRNESS WORKS and focus on the importance of listening and building long-term connections between members and their unions.
- Examine the power of listening. Discuss the importance of being listened to when building trust and relationships with members;
- Learn to create bridges between members’ values and union concerns;
- Practice listening skills, effective body language and techniques; and
- Develop a personal toolkit for holding short conversations that allow for ongoing engagement and continued conversations.
