Labour Council Endorses $14 Minimum Wage Campaign

The Waterloo Regional Labour Council passed a motion at its September 2013 meeting endorsing the provincial campaign to raise the minimum wage in Ontario to $14/hour.

In Kitchener-Waterloo, the Labour Council is working with Poverty Makes Us Sick and other local activist groups to hold events on the 14th of each month to call attention to the campaign.

The Workers' Action Centre in Toronto has produced several excellent materials explaining the benefits of a higher minimum wage and addressing several of the arguments its opponents make.  See for details.
